Thalun International School (Thalun) is a private college preparatory school for PKG to G12 students. The language of instruction is English, and the school follows a US standards based curriculum guided by American Education Reaches Out (AERO). The academic program is complemented by visual and performing arts, ICT, sport and variety of co-curricular activities. In grades 10 to 12 students may elect to take Advanced Placement classes to support them in applying to colleges and universities around the world. The school currently serves students from 21 different nationalities.
The name of the school is derived from King Thalun, one of the kings of the Taungoo Dynasty, who ruled in the 16th century and was known for his disciplined approach and improving the lives of his people. The name perfectly captures our philosophy of empowering our students to be tomorrow’s well-balanced leaders as they grow and develop.
