International School Jobs in Europe

Teaching Jobs in France International Schools

Most of the international schools in Europe are to be found in large Western European cities such as Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, Stockholm and Madrid. There are fewer international teaching jobs to be found in Eastern European countries but these are starting to emerge. While some international schools offer full K-12 provision, others specialise in early years, primary or secondary education. The majority of international schools in Europe are accredited and deliver an internationally recognised curriculum such as the International Baccalaureate, US Common Core/AERO, or British curriculum. Whatever grade or curriculum you teach, you should be able to find suitable teaching jobs in Europe international schools.

How to Find International Teaching Jobs in Europe

Teaching in Europe at International Schools

The majority of international teaching jobs in Europe run according to the Western academic calendar. There will often be two intakes for hiring, one in September and another one in February. The hiring process for international school jobs in Europe will typically start in October or November of the previous year. It is important to note that not all teaching positions are offered for teaching abroad and many management and support roles are will be filled locally. The most commonly posted opportunities for expats include early years, primary, and secondary school teacher vacancies, principal and coordinator positions, SEN and learning support teachers, as well school counsellor and teacher librarian openings. Whilst the language of instruction in most international schools in Europe will be English, some schools are bilingual. A teacher’s licence, PGCE, QTS or similar is normally required for teaching in Europe at international schools.
