Preschool teaching jobs are also widely available. The majority of international schools in Singapore are fully accredited and deliver an internationally recognised curriculum such as the International Baccalaureate, US Common Core/AERO, or the British curriculum. Teachers of most grades and subjects should be able to find teaching jobs in Singpore international schools.

International schools in Singapore follow the Western academic calendar, with the first semester from August to December and the second running from January to June. In terms of international school jobs, there will often be two employment intakes, in August and in December/January. Recruitment for teaching jobs in Singapore will typically begin as early as October or November of the previous calendar year. Foreign nationals should be aware that not all teaching vacancies are open to expat teachers, and that senior, leadership and support roles are often filled with locally based candidates. Among the most common teaching vacancies for foreigners teaching abroad in Singapore are for early years, primary, and secondary teachers (particularly English, Math, Art, Science and Physical Education), as well as School Principal and Coordinator positions. There are also opportunities for School Counsellors and Teacher Librarian vacancies. Whilst the language of instruction in most international schools in Singapore will be English, some schools teach in bilingual mode. A teacher’s licence, QTS or similar professional teaching qualification is normally a minimum requirement for teaching jobs in Singapore international schools.
